1. Program Overview & Eligibility Requirements
The Franco-Thai Young Talent Research Fellowship Program aims at jumpstarting the career of young researchers from Thailand and from France by giving them the opportunity to develop promising collaboration with their counterparts.
This program supports Thai and French post doctorates, graduated in 2018 or after, who are lecturers or researchers in public or private institutions intending to conduct a research project of two (2) to six (6) months within a laboratory or research center located in France (for Thai candidates) or in Thailand (for French Candidate). All fields of research will be considered and the selection will be made based on the criteria of excellence.
For the candidates who are currently PhD student, they must complete their PhD by February 2023, before leaving for France.
This program operated by Campus France under the coordination of the French Embassy in Thailand, is co-funded by both Thai (NXPO – PMU-B) and French (Ambassade de France) parties.
The project proposal in the area of Humanities, Social Sciences and Innovation is highly encouraged. It is to support the Year of Innovation and policies of the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Thailand and French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
Note concerning Thai candiates to PMU-B grant Under the program of National Postgraduate/Postdoctoral System of Thailand:
The grant will be prioritized to the project background in these following fields: Future industry such as Earth Science&Space, Quantum, High Energy Physics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Metaverse, BCG (Medical, Argricutural, Food, Energy, Material, Tourism), Frontier BCG (Personalized Medicine and Future food),Social Humanity and Art (SHA).
The fellowship includes:
For French researcher coming to Thailand
- a round trip ticket from France to Thailand (including welfare; health insurance, domestic transportation)
- a monthly allowance of 1,800 €
For Thai researcher coming to France (Co-funding)
- a round trip ticket from Thailand to France,
- a monthly living allowance of 1,800€
- the OFII and visa fees
- health insurance coverage for the duration of the stay in France.
For Thai researcher coming to France (PMU-B grant: Under the program of National Postgraduate/Postdoctoral System of Thailand)
- a round trip ticket from Thailand to France
- a monthly living allowance of 1,800€
- the OFII and visa fees
- health insurance coverage for the duration of the stay in France.
NB: Neither bench fees nor support for finding housing in France and Thailand will be provided by this program. The laboratory or the International Relations Department of the host university should be able to offer assistance on this matter.
2. Selection Process
In order to identify the successful candidates, the selection committee will consider:
- The scientific and technical quality of the project
- The methodological rigour of the scientific approach
- The long term scientific and/or technical benefits
- The adequacy with the candidate background & knowledge
A specific attention will begiven to applicants who have found other sources of funding for their projectand who are lecturers or researchers in public or private institutions.
3. Selection Schedule
Deadline for Submission: November 30th,2022
Results: Late February/EarlyMarch 2023
Departures can be scheduled from April 2023

- all projects should be finishedby December 31st, 2023
- only selected candidates willbe contacted.
4. Documents to be provided
- The filled and signed application form
- Copy of Passport
- Up-to-date résumé stating the entire curriculum (including list of publications)
- Cover letter explaining motivations and interests in the project
- Copy of academic diplomas
- Detailed description of the research project to be conducted abroad
- Letter from the hosting laboratory
- Schedule of thesis defence, if PhD is still ongoing when applying
Optional documents:
- Academic and/or professional recommendations
- Language proficiency certificates: French (TCF, DELF, DALF, academic degree,…) and/orEnglish (TOEFL, TOEIC, etc.)
- Co-fundingcommitment letter
